1. Our Commitment to PIPL

AGI.ML is committed to complying with the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China (PIPL), which took effect on November 1, 2021. This page explains how we protect the personal information of individuals in China and our compliance with PIPL requirements.

3. Personal Information We Process

In accordance with PIPL Article 6, we only collect personal information that is necessary for our purposes:

  • Contact information (name, email) for newsletter subscriptions
  • Technical information (IP address, browser type) for website functionality
  • Usage data for improving our educational content

We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined in PIPL Article 28, including biometric data, religious beliefs, specific identities, medical health, financial accounts, or location tracking.

4. Your Rights Under PIPL

As an individual in China, PIPL grants you the following rights:

Right to Know (Article 44)

You have the right to know how your personal information is being processed and to be informed of our processing activities.

Right to Decide (Article 44)

You have the right to decide whether to consent to the processing of your personal information and to restrict or refuse processing.

Right to Access and Copy (Article 45)

You may request access to and copies of your personal information, except where prohibited by law.

Right to Correct and Supplement (Article 46)

If your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request correction or completion.

Right to Deletion (Article 47)

You may request deletion of your personal information when the processing purpose has been achieved, you withdraw consent, or processing violates law.

Right to Withdraw Consent (Article 15)

Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

5. Consent Requirements

In accordance with PIPL Articles 13-14, we obtain separate, explicit consent for:

- Processing personal information
- Any cross-border transfer of data
- Newsletter subscriptions
- Use of non-essential cookies

Consent is voluntary, and you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

6. Cross-Border Data Transfers

As required by PIPL Chapter III (Articles 38-43), when transferring personal information outside of China, we:

- Obtain your separate consent for cross-border transfers
- Conduct security assessments as required
- Implement standard contractual clauses
- Ensure the overseas recipient provides equivalent protection
- Keep records of all cross-border transfer activities

7. Data Security Measures

In compliance with PIPL Article 51, we implement comprehensive security measures:

  • Encryption of personal information in transit and at rest
  • Access control and authentication mechanisms
  • Regular security assessments and audits
  • Staff training on data protection
  • Incident response procedures
  • Data minimization and purpose limitation

8. Data Retention

Personal information is retained only for the minimum period necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this notice, or as required by law. When retention is no longer necessary, we will delete or anonymize your personal information.
